Hot and festive cocoa to brighten up your holidays

We all agree that hot chocolate or hot chocolate is the best winter treat. In addition to its rich and sweet taste, it is warm and calming and easy to make. There’s really nothing quite like curling up on the sofa with a warm blanket and a mug of hot chocolate in your hands. It really changes everything and makes things so much better. While classic hot chocolate is almost always the best option, hot chocolate offers many different variations for all types of occasions. In addition to a classic hot chocolate recipe, we’ve added a few more versions to suit all of your needs. Instead of having the same hot chocolate over and over again, mix things up a little and try something new. If you entertain people, you can amuse them with your upgraded hot chocolate! Whether you prefer something sweeter, something colder, something wicked, or even something tastier, these recipes will cater for all of those needs. The next time you crave a hot, sweet drink, try one of these recipes to pamper yourself and enhance your hot chocolate experience. Don’t be satisfied with stale hot chocolate. If you are feeling really adventurous, there are ways to expand and try things that aren’t in the recipes. Think of your favorite sweets and try them with hot chocolate! You may find something unexpected.


For The Classic Version

  • 4 cups of milk
  • 200 g milk chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup of brown sugar
  • a pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream for serving

For The Frozen Version

  • classic hot chocolate
  • Vanilla ice cream
  • whipped cream

For The Grownup Version

  • classic hot chocolate
  • 1 or 2 tablespoons of alcohol of your choice
  • Whipped cream for serving
  • Cocoa powder or chocolate flakes for serving

For The Spiced Version

  • classic hot chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Whipped cream for serving
  • sprinkle

How To:

  1. To make the classic hot chocolate, combine all the ingredients in one saucepan. Let simmer over medium heat.
  2. Stir the mixture so the chocolate and sugar melt.
  3. Serve with whipped cream.
  4. For frozen food, combine classic hot chocolate with vanilla ice cream. until the mixture is smooth. Before garnishing with whipped cream, pour into glasses and sprinkle on top.
  5. For adults, add alcohol to the classic hot chocolate. Then pour into the cups and garnish with whipped cream and cocoa or chocolate flakes.
  6. For seasonings, add all the seasonings to the classic hot chocolate while it’s still cooking. Pour into bowls and decorate with whipped cream and cocoa or chocolate flakes. If you’re feeling extra, you can add a cinnamon stick to each cup as well.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
